well this is the first in awhile when the radio weekend, including my show, is ready the night before it begins . . . this is fine, a good thing . . . Cenacle | 73-74 | Summer 2010 is progressing as well, deep into the copy editing process, it always takes simply too long, but the result is inevitably a good one . . . since the journal went to quarterly, each issue now is given a realistic amount of time to come to be . . . even despite the current one coming out this summer, not in june . . .

i haven’t talked about obama much of late here . . . i maintain my slightly grudging support for him despite a feeling that it seems like his administration thus far is more success than failure, but not so much more . . . the fall congressional elections will prove decisive as to what happens next, whether the next two years are a simple bog when nothing good gets done, or something else happens, i don’t know what will come . . .

still jobless, still looking, one happy thing of late is a more tenacious devotion to pen & press, & quite a few bike rides down the Minuteman Bikeway, oh what a lovely creation it is . . . one of my greatest happinesses these days, a surprise i am so fucking grateful for . . . my bike & i have a sequel place to the black rock desert . . . now just need a fleshspace place for the no borders bookstore . . . that will come i vow & believe . . .

KD just scored a job for a non-profit relief agency in boston, that is such good news . . . now it’s my turn to shoot and score!

working also on Cenacle | 73-74 | Summer 2010 . . . endlessly getting closer . . . before the season’s end for sure . . .

job nibbles and more nibbles but no slam dunk yet . . . keep shooting!

some news this week, first being updated radio page for new show this weekend, keeping up on the paperwork & the archives, & trying to do good shows above all . . . another is that my fixtion Labyrinthine on the site has been updated to include all of Part Three . . . & also work on Cenacle | 75 | October 2010 has begun, with only weeks to finish it before the October Jellicle Guild meeting . . . & also resumed work on the next RaiBook, Chris Gose’s World’s Window, his Peru ayahuasca journal . . .

Also working on getting a job with an old recruiter place that helped me back when, hoping to renew this tie, the week concluding on this hopeful note . . . been working very hard of late, results are going to show in all kinds of ways as time goes on . . .

first mention is that Jellicle Literary Guild invitations for the first East Coast meeting since Dec 2001 went out earlier this week . . . will be held end of October. . . also, the JG archives page will be updated very soon to include the April 2010 meeting, last one of nine total held out in Portland . . .

next, the radio page is updated to include this weekend’s show, on air in about two hours . . . sixth weekend in a row of new radio, a break after this one, grateful, needed, & because----

that end of October JG meeting, aside from being major in itself, will include the debut of Cenacle | 75 | October 2010 AND the first new RaiBook volume in several years . . . so the break from the radio is needed just for sanity’s sake while getting the rest of this going . . . also hopeful news is that my pending job seems closer to reality, but I think I will have another week or two’s wait, time to work on these other things . . . hoping to have my shit together FINALLY by month’s end . . .

just added the 4/17/2010 Jellicle Guild meeting to its archives, & updated the home page for the new meeting image . . . this hardly a week before the next meeting, first in six months, & first in New England since December 2001 . . . well, glad to get the meetings started again here before the end of the decade . . . I hope the 25th anniversary meeting will be here, & there will be a lot more meetings between now & then . . .

been working every day hours at the go lately on Cenacle | 75 | October 2010, it’s coming along . . . & that RaiBook mentioned last time should be done too . . . still waiting on new job . . . right now it’s grind, grind, grind . . .

several things: first, updated radio page for this past weekend’s radio show (this was actually done late Friday night) . . . next weekend is SpiritPlants Radio’s 7th anniversary on the air, & 2nd anniversary since I took it over & built a 24/7 station with a full weekend schedule, DJs, etc. . . wowza . . .

second, updated the History of Scriptor Press & Labyrinthine works on the site, both for new content from the October Cenacle & to add chapter tabs to each one, for a bit easier navigability . . .

lastly, work on Cenacle | 76 | December 2010 has begun, among other more behind-the-scene works . . . more on these as they come to fruit . . .

beyond press work, still job hunting . . . a good possible fell through last week, took me some days to get over the disappointment . . . but time to carry on, even better . . .

updated radio page for this coming weekend’s radio show . . . as noted a few days ago, this weekend is SpiritPlants Radio’s 7th anniversary on the air, & 2nd anniversary since I took it over & built a 24/7 station with a full weekend schedule, DJs, etc. . . it’s a seven-day-a-week job, writing, doing the radio and press and having a life with KD, sometimes I tire, sometimes I still thrill . . .

second, added two links to the “Alternative News” page: Radio Ecoshock: Environmental Awareness Network and Sea Change Radio: Making Connections for Sustainability . . . third, work on Cenacle | 76 | December 2010 continues . . .

I still don’t have a job though I read this week that the jobless rate in Mass. is at an 18-month low . . . meanwhile the motherfucking pissants in DC fail as of yet to extend jobless benefits to millions . . . need to look some other direction and find a reason to smile . . .

brief edit: forgot to mention that I added the main page link on the “psychedelic links” page because it seemed like a lot of people were landing initially on that page but not going further into site . . .

also on the psychedelic links page added link to “Psychedelia: The Psychedelic Salon Podcast, the Timothy Leary Archives and the Terence McKenna Project” . . . new & very promising collaborative archives to protect & preserve, & grow, a lot of valuable psychedelic material . . .

briefest of updates, adding my 36th & final “Within’s Within” for 2010 to the radio archives . . . next show will be January 8th . . .

a whole lot of updates coming soon, however, as new issue of The Cenacle, Chris Gose’s World’s Window, & the October 2010 Jellicle Literary Guild audio highlights will be added to this site very soon . . . the fact of each of these done & ready to be disseminated is an exciting thing for me, renders the stress & exhaustion of recent days justified . . . Scriptor Press has had a productive year, & equally important so has my pen . . . I’m going to leave it there for now, back when all is ready to announce . . .

funny to be writing this last entry of 2010 on the Noreaster Amtrak train to Portland, Maine . . . KD & I are going to spend our 5th anniversary by the ocean for a few days . . . while swaying northward in the darkness, a slew of updates to tell of . . .

The Cenacle | 76 | December 2010 is now on site, completing this year’s four-issue run . . . i remember fighting off doing this periodical just quarterly but it was a good decision, & it benefits from the success of doing this . . . no more trying & failing to get to six issues in a year . . . just doesn’t work . . . anyway, the contents of the new issue include:

• New fiction by Zannemarie Lloyd Taylor, Horse Lampner, & Raymond Soulard, Jr.
• Poetry by Tom Sheehan, Judih Haggai, & Martina Newberry
• J. D. Salinger tribute by Raymond Soulard, Jr.
• Classic fiction by J. D. Salinger
• From Soulard’s Notebooks
• Psychedelics essay by Dave King
• Artwork by AbandonView, Iris Weinstein Haggai, & Kassandra & Raymond Soulard, Jr.

Also debuting on site is Christopher Patrick Gose’s World’s Window: Ruminations Psychedelic and Otherwise, Being a Journal of My Travels in Peru . . . in 2009, the New Mexico native & psychedelics enthusiast traveled with his partner down to the jungles of Peru, in search of the truths & healing that working with ayahuasca shamans might bring . . . along the way he experimented with the coca leaf & other indigenous psychoactive plants . . .

Gose writes of the ecstasies & pitfalls of travel, & recounts his personal struggles—toward clarity of life purpose & lightening of heart’s burden—with the singular intelligence & plainspoken yearning of a contemporary pilgrim . . . his narrative is compelling & informative, & moves at a lively pace . . . Gose’s quest is a universal one for men & women—the answer to the question: “How to live & why?” . . .

Finally, the October 2010 Jellicle Literary Guild audio highlights have been added to the site. . . this meeting was the first back on the East Coast since 2001, & happily features a number of the old school attendees mixed with a few new ones. . .

That’s it for now, for this year, ending on a good note, six months back in Boston, job-hunting at a quickening pace, ready to roll hard & high & ambitiously into 2011 . . . my hunger is deep to make the new year rock & roll with hard work & many kinds of success . . . not aim high, but higher . . .
